Kinesio Tape

Kinesio tapes are multicolored tapes made of cotton material, coated with glue, and with the ability to elongate to 130-140% of the original length. They are designed to move with the body and provide support and stability to muscles and joints. They are often used to improve posture, reduce inflammation, and for pain relief. They can remain on the body for 3 to 5 days without causing irritation.

The elastic kinesiology tape was originally developed in the 1970s by Dr. Kenzo Kase, a Japanese chiropractor. Dr. Kase was inspired by the way muscles and joints worked. He developed - therefore - a tape that had the same elasticity as muscle tissue and could be applied directly to the skin. This allowed the body to move naturally while providing support and stability. Since then, Kinesio tape has become increasingly popular as a form of physiotherapy.

Kinesio tapes are commonly used by athletes and physiotherapists. They can be used to support and stabilize muscles and joints, thereby reducing the risk of injury. Kinesio tape can also be used to improve posture, reduce inflammation and relieve pain. The tape is often applied in a specific pattern, depending on the affected area. For example, in an X, Y, I, or O. It is important to follow the instructions of a physiotherapist or certified kinesio taping instructor when applying the tape, as the incorrect application does not cause additional problems - but it does not produce the desired results.

The way kinesiology tape works is simple. When the tape is applied to the body, it gently and lightly lifts the skin. In this way, extra space is created between skin and tissue, which facilitates blood flow, allows the wound to heal faster, and reduces pain. The color of the tape does not affect its use and is purely for aesthetic reasons.
