The 3M Littmann Core digital stethoscope is designed to provide support to doctors, listening to sounds produced by the body especially the lungs, heart, and bowel. Allows the doctor at one location on the network to listen to the sounds of a patient in the same area or at a different location on the network.

The 3M Littmann Core digital stethoscope is not intended for use only by professional doctors in a clinical setting but also for individuals in a non-clinical setting. More specifically, private users have the ability to record, store, and share their body sounds with their doctors. This is possible through a device connected to the Core stethoscope (Core attachment) and the Eko application.

It is suitable for cardiologists, pulmonologists, and internists and is intended for use in pediatric and adult patients.

The 3M Littman Core digital stethoscope has amplification and audio transmission - via Bluetooth - on compatible smartphones, tablets iOS, and Android. The application also allows doctors to store sounds within selected Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, notify recordings to other doctors, and add notes to the recorded material.
