Löwenstein Medical® Scala PG sleep diagnostic system

The Löwenstein Medical® scala sleep laboratory is a portable diagnostic and treatment unit for respiratory disorders. The Scala portable sleep diagnosis system from Weinmann Lowenstein Medical® offers multiple recordings with 24-meter channels of which 4 can be defined as an electrocardiogram (ECG), electromyogram (EMG), electroencephalogram (EEG) and electrophthalmogram (EOG). At the same time, all cases of apnea, central and obstructive, are recorded, the respiratory flow through the nasal tube or the pressure of the mask and the oxygen saturation is calculated through a finger sensor.

The Löwenstein Medical® Scala sleep laboratory performs the following measurements:

• Respiratory activity: Differential pressure measurement via flow prong (with an adaptor also during PAP therapy), alternative or additional measurement using thermistor possible.
• Thoracic effort: Differential pressure measurement using rubber cuffs built into chest strap; alternative measurement by RlP belt possible.
• Abdominal effort: Differential pressure measurement using rubber cuffs built into abdomen strap; alternative measurement by RlP belt possible.
• Breathing sounds: Phonometric transducer via flow prong.
• Alternative or additional measurement with external microphone possible SpO2/Pulse: Built-in pulse oximeter, calibrated for functional oxygen saturation. Finger sensor special rubber-coated thimble finger sensor.
