The Nonin 8000SS small finger sensor has a diameter of 7.5mm-12.5mm, is specially designed for reliable and accurate SpO2 measurements, and is compatible for use with Nonin WristOx2. The PureLight® sensor technology used by Nonin produces a high-intensity spectrum of clear light, which eliminates the small changes that can occur from patient to patient even in cases of low perfusion, offering reliable and stable results in the measurement of SpO2. His style measures oxygenated and non-oxygenated hemoglobin through the red LED light.

LED infrared light sources are responsible for measuring oxygenated or non-oxygenated hemoglobin and light emission is important for the effective measurement of SpO2. Common red LED light produces a secondary emission spectrum (contamination), which affects the measurement and calibration curve of the oximeter resulting in inaccurate SpO2 readings below 80%. PureLight® red light produces only the bright light spectrum, which does not cause the oximeter calibration curve to shift below SpO2 levels below 80%.
