The Nonin 8000SS baby oximetry sensor is a finger sensor that offers flexibility in use with reliable results. Provides patient comfort and optimal pressure distribution, with reliable results even in cases of low perspiration. The Nonin 8000SS sensor uses the PureLight® style, which produces a high-intensity spectrum of clear light that eliminates changes in patient-to-patient measurements, giving even more accurate results in SpO2 measurements.

LED infrared light sources are responsible for measuring oxygenated or non-oxygenated hemoglobin and light emission is important for the effective measurement of SpO2. Common red LED light produces a secondary emission spectrum (contamination), which affects the measurement and calibration curve of the oximeter resulting in inaccurate SpO2 readings below 80%. PureLight® red light produces only the bright light spectrum, which does not cause the oximeter calibration curve to shift below SpO2 levels below 80%.
