The Nonin spO2 pediatric sensor 8000AP, is a multi-purpose sensor that fits on the finger, designed to measure SpO2, giving stable and reliable results. The 8000AP child oximetry sensor uses a PureLight® sensor which is responsible for the reliability of Nonin sensors. PureLight® sensors use a high-intensity spectrum of clear light that eliminates changes in patient-to-patient measurements even in the event of movement or low perfusion. LED infrared light sources are responsible for measuring oxygenated or non-oxygenated hemoglobin and light emission is important for the effective measurement of SpO2.
LED infrared light sources are responsible for measuring oxygenated or non-oxygenated hemoglobin and light emission is important for the effective measurement of SpO2. Common red LED light produces a secondary emission spectrum (contamination), which affects the measurement and calibration curve of the oximeter resulting in inaccurate SpO2 readings below 80%. PureLight® red light produces only the bright light spectrum, which does not cause the oximeter calibration curve to shift below SpO2 levels below 80%.
The Nonin 8000AP spO2 child sensor is suitable for patients from 8 to 30 kg.
