Absorbable Monosorb surgical sutures with single synthetic fiber, suture length 75cm, 22mm needle length, USP 4/0 and curve 1/2 of the circle.
Absorbable Monosorb surgical sutures are suitable for use in general complementation, contact retention, and soft tissue convergence, even in microsurgery and ophthalmology. Their use is not indicated for the tissues of the central cardiovascular and central nervous system.
Implantation of the absorbable synthetic suture Monosorb causes a very small local inflammation of the tissues which is followed by the development of fibrous connective tissue in its place.
The retention of Monosorb absorbable synthetic suture after four weeks is at 65-70% of the original, while after the end of the sixth week the retention is at 50-60% of the original.
The suture is substantially absorbed after a period of 180 - 220 days from implantation.
