i-STAT cTnl cartridges for i-STAT are intended for an in vitro diagnostic test for the quantitative measurement of cardiac troponin I (cTnI) in whole blood or plasma. Cardiac troponin I measurements are used in the diagnosis and treatment of myocardial infarction and as an aid in stratifying the risk of patients with acute coronary syndromes, compared to the relative risk of mortality.
Samples include heparinized whole blood or plasma collected in syringes or evacuated tubes containing lithium heparin or samples of non-heparinized whole blood examined within one minute by the patient in a plastic syringe or plastic evacuated tube without additives.
The measurement time of cardiac troponin is ten (10) minutes.
