Installing Batteries in your Varta AED Plus defibrillator

The Varta AED Plus defibrillator takes consumers 10 lithium batteries (type 123 lithium batteries). We strongly recommend using only Duracell Ultra Type 123 Batteries to ensure long life. Once new batteries have been installed the date should be recorded. Batteries installed in the Varta AED Plus defibrillator typically have a 5-year life from the date of installation. A good rule of thumb is: if you have CPR-D pads (which also have a 5-year shelf life) you should make it routine to change the batteries at the same time as the 5-year pads. The date stamped on the batteries is NOT an expiration date but it is an "install by" date.
