Ice packs

Ice packs are designed to manage pain, swelling, or injuries, as they provide quick relief and speed up the healing process.

Cold packs are available in 3 different types. The first category type is gel ice packs. Gel ice packs contain a gel-like substance that remains flexible even when frozen. They can be stored in the freezer and used immediately on the affected area. In addition, instant cold packs work like an ice pack and do not require dehydration before use. It contains chemicals that react when they come into contact with the water or liquid contained. It is disposable and has a duration of approximately 20 minutes, ideal for first aid. Finally, there are reusable ice packs for a more economical and environmentally friendly option.

Using ice packs offers several benefits. In more detail, they relieve pain as they numb the nerves and reduce the sensation of pain. Particularly useful for those experiencing chronic pain or acute injuries. Additionally, they reduce swelling. When applied to the affected area they constrict blood vessels reducing blood flow to the area. Finally, the combination of the two above achieves the healing process as cryotherapy increases blood flow promoting healing.
