Multicare In cholesterol strips (25 pcs)

With the MultiCare-in Cholesterol strips it is possible to quickly check cholesterol levels in the blood and inform the family physician to find a suitable therapy or to check-up on an existing therapy.

The level of cholesterol in the blood is influenced by the diet, but also by: medicines, diabetes mellitus, pregnancy and severe illnesses.
 

It is recommended to check blood cholesterol concentration on all people who are used to smoke, to drink too much alcohol and to eat fat and are over weighted or do not exercise enough.

 It is specially recommended to people who already had heart disease or with familiar cases of heart diseases before the age of 60. Perform the test at fast for at least 9 hours.

How to perform cholesterol test

1. Insert the data-chip

It is necessary to insert the data-chip contained in the strips box in order to automatically download all required information to perform the test.

2. Check the number

On the display will appear the data-chip number that should correspond to the one printed in the strip vial label.

3. Insert the strip

Insert the reagent strip of the parameter that you would perform. The instrument will automatically switch on.

4. Blood application

After performing the finger prick apply the drop of blood in the white circular area of the strip coming out the instrument. The quantity of blood should be enough to create a half-circle. Wait until moving segment will appear on the display

5. Check the result

Check the result that appears on the display after short time. The wide characters will help the operator to execute the test and to clearly read the results.

6. Ejection of used strips

After performing the test it is possible to eject automatically the strip by pressing the switch on the backside of the instrument in order to avoid contamination.

Average time for reading: About 30 seconds

Table of results:

Cholesterol below 130 mg/dL (3.3 mmol/L) = LO*
Cholesterol between 130 mg/dL (3.3 mmol/L)
and 400 mg/dL (10.2 mmol/L) = the numerical result
Cholesterol above 400 mg/dL (10.2 mmol/L) the display = HI**
*Repeat the test.
**Such results mean that the Triglycerides concentration in the sample is very elevated and it indicates a serious risk. CONTACT A PHYSICIAN IMMEDIATELY.

Cholesterol Values
Less than 200 mg/dL (5.1 mmol/L) = desirable values
From 200 mg/dL (5.1 mmol/L) to 239 mg/dL (6.1 mmol/L) = high risk factor
More than or equal to 240 mg/dL (6.1 mmol/L) = high cholesterol
