Goniometer with arms is used to measure analytical motility of various body segments in degrees.

The goniometer is used by orthopaedic surgeons to measure the range of movement of joints: elbows, knees and fingers.

One of the two arms can be indifferently used as “fixed” arm.Place the “fixed” arm on the intra-articular line of the body segment, which will remain still. Make the patient move and rotate the other arm of the goniometer until it reaches the intra-articular line ofthe moving segment or a parallel line. On the graduated scale read the angle measure corresponding to the movement performed.
